Welcome to the GarrMusic Song page

Over the couse of many years, I've written dozens of songs. some of them, I just wrote lyrics, some lyrics and melodies, and some I even wrote the guitar parts for. All of them have a special meaning to me. Here's where you can find my songs and information about them. Enjoy!

  1. How I Say
  2. Regret
  3. Wicked Son
  4. Window

How I Say

This song was written on my acoustic on the day that my cousin, Andrew was killed in a car accident. It burdens my heart to this day, and I have a hard time remembering the lyrics because I try not to sing it too often, and I'm often distracted by the pain of the loss. Andrew was a special person who meant a lot to me, and I miss him every day.

Regret

This song has a whole lot of meaning to me. It's mostly about my tendency to fake myself in order to fit the needs or ideals of others. There are more specific meanings to this song's lyrics, but mostly it's about feeling really, really bad about not being able to measure up to someone's expectations, even though you want to.

This song was written while I was in RuleSeven 2.0. I wrote it on my acoustic and then the band made a really great arrangement.

Wicked Son

This is a classic Icarus story. I can't really say much more than that. The concept here is that sometimes when you try too hard, you end up crashing and burning (or drowning in Icarus' case).

I wrote this on my acoustic and then RuleSeven 2.0 made a KILLER arrangement!

Window

This song mirrors what I think might just be my biggest weakness. I trust my friends too much and/or I expect friends to treat me with more priority than perhaps they feel I deserve. A group of my friends was staying with me in my apartment for a few weeks while they looked for something else. When they found it, they simply took off, took furniture and left a bunch of trash and things they didn't want to pack or clean. I put it all out on the porch. What a bunch of assholes.

Paul, Dan, and Kevin wrote the music for this, I wrote the lyrics and melody. It was a BroomPenny original which I adapted with a slightly new arrangement and play acoustically in my solo act.
